Closer to Kingswood

On Thursday morning we wandered into Wilmcote as we needed some milk.  We were rather taken with this lovely old farmhouse.

We also saw Mary Arden’s house which really shows off the blue lias limestone quarried in the area as mentioned in yesterday's blog entry.

Karen is really pleased how her flowers have come on in the couple of days she was away.

We cruised for a few hours back up the South Stratford that we had come down last week.  There were far more lambs around compared with a week ago.

As we did on the way down to Stratford, we filled up with water whilst moored on the aqueduct over the A34.

We took it easy during the day and cruised through nine locks and covered seven miles.  We only have about three miles and another nine locks to go through before we are back at Kingswood junction.  We will then head off up the North Stratford which will be a new part of the system for us.

Our home for the night.
