VR Wall Box London: Royal Mail Museum (Allen medium) - Out of use

This box was made by WT Allen of London and is one of the medium size versions of the 1881-1901 range of wall boxes which was the last range of wall boxes made in the Victorian era.  This particular style of the medium size box in the range was made between 1893 and 1900.

It is out of use and mounted high up on a wall with four other Victorian boxes at the London Royal Mail museum. It is the one in the centre of the group picture below.
