VR Wall Box Hook: Sherfield on Loddon - RG27 21

This box was made by WT Allen of London and is one of the small size versions of the 1881-1901 range of wall boxes which was the last range of wall boxes made in the Victorian era.  This particular style of the small size box in the range was made between 1882 and 1885.

It is box number RG27 21 and can be found in Sherfield on Loddon near Hook, Hampshire.

It was spotted by Sophie on 29 August 2019.  Before taking her pictures, Sophie knocked on the door of the house to tell the owner what she was doing.  A lovely, inebriated, lady answered and she was delighted Sophie showed such an interest in what was the old post office!
