This box was made by WT Allen of London and is one of the medium size versions of the 1881-1901 range of wall boxes which was the last range of wall boxes made in the Victorian era. This particular style of the medium size box in the range was made between 1886 and 1892.
This box is number 544 in the Maltese series and can be found outside the post Office on Tramuntana in Nadur on Gozo. Like most UK boxes on the Maltese islands this one has had its crown and cypher ground off.
It was spotted by Neil on 6 May 2024.
