VR Wall Box Cranleigh: Bookers Lee - GU6 97

This box was made by WT Allen of London and is one of the medium size versions of the 1881-1901 range of wall boxes which was the last range of wall boxes made in the Victorian era.  This particular style of the medium size box in the range was made between 1886 and 1892.

It is box number GU6 97 and can be found in Bookers Lee near Cranleigh, Surrey.

It was spotted by Steve on 30 September 2019.  Sadly, when Steve revisited it on New Year's Day 2020 it had been stolen, an occurrence that is happening more frequently to VR boxes in remote locations (see photo at bottom).
