This box was made by Smith & Hawkes in Birmingham and was known as the Improved Box No. 2. These were one of the earliest boxes, being made in 1860 and 1861. This one still has its letter flap which is quite unusual.
It is box number PL30 9 and can be found in the middle of the hamlet of St Breward near Bodmin, Cornwall, UK.
It was spotted by Peter Williams on 13 January 2022.
