This box was made by Smith & Hawkes in Birmingham and was known as a Box No. 2. These were one of the earliest boxes, being made in 1859 or 1860. This one still has its letter flap which is quite unusual.
It is box number BS26 15 and can be found on Christon Road in Loxton near Axbridge in Somerset.
It was spotted by Peter Williams on 29 October 2021.
