VR Pillar Box Lymington: Milford-on-Sea - SO41 2
This box was made by Smith & Hawkes of Birmingham and this style of box was made in 1856 and 1857. This is one of the original style of pillar made before the first standard boxes, known as Penfolds, were introduced nationwide in 1866.
It is box number SO41 2 and can be found at the junction of Victoria Road and Cornwallis Road in Milford-on-Sea, Lymington, Hampshire.
