VR Pillar Box Folkestone: Trinity Crescent - CT20 12

This box was made by Cochrane & Co of Dudley and this style was made from 1873-1878 and has a medium diameter with a low aperture.  This type of box is known as a Penfold after the designer JW Penfold whose design was chosen for the first standardised national pillar box that was introduced in 1866.

It is box number CT20 12 and can be found on Trinity Crescent in Folkestone, Kent.
